I have been involved with the blues since my youth. For me it is not only music but a way of life; and, in my view, together with jazz, it is the most important cultural contribution, from the US in the 20th century. For a long time I’ve also been occupied with the aesthetics of the blues. The two-part installation Blues Ain’t No Stranger represents the “call-and-response” principle of the exhibition. The contributions by Mike Henderson and myself are committed to the intercultural dialogue, the sensitivity and the socio-cultural dimension of African-American culture. I pay my respect!
